Vritomartis Hotel & Bungalows took its name from an ancient Minoan goddess worshipped in the area. The hotel is located in the region of Sfakia on the South coast of Crete, near the village of Hora Sfakion. This region is one of the most spectacular and unspoilt coastal area of Crete.
The resort is built in a traditional Greek style and situated on a promontory overlooking the South Cretan sea. The spectacular range of the White Mountains rises to a he ight of over 2000 metres to the North. Region

Sfakia is the largest administrative region in West Crete, but since most of it consists of mountains it is thinly populated. A big attraction of the region is its still unspoilt nature: quiet beaches and coves, wild gorges, high mountains, rich plant life (especially in the spring). The small villages and their inhabitants also contribute greatly to the charms of Sfakia: the Sfakiots are still resolutely traditional, independent and proud to be so. You will find them to be friendly and helpful but also quite reserved, as mountain people often are.
